Ova priča nadahnuta je stvarnim likovima,
unukom i djedom Markom.
S ljubavlju, njima posvećujem ovu knjigu.

That winter morning, grandpa Mark woke up very early. He went to his grandson's room to see if his grandson Mark might have revealed himself under the quilt. The night was very cold and the grandson gentle.

Entering his grandson's room, he was a very surprised to see that Mark was not in his bed. Frightened, he looked around the room. He saw a piece of paper by the bed. It was written in a clumsy handwriting: I AM SORRY FOR MY SICK FRIEND GORAN. HE HAS NOT BEEN AT SCHOOL FOR 2 DAYS. I WENT TO SEEK A MEDICINE FOR A FRIEND. DINKO TOLD ME THAT OLD WOMAN LIVING ON THE EDGE OF THE FOREST, WHO KNOWS EVERYTHING.

Grandpa's heart was pounding! So how will Mark, who is only in the 1st grade, look for an old woman who lived alone on the edge of the forest for many years ?!
And that on a cold winter dawn when it hasn't even dawned yet ?!
He decided to look for him alone and find him before they wake up. He didn't want them to be scared and worried either.

He quickly put on his winter jacket and boots, took a flashlight and followed his grandson in his pajamas. Already in the yard, Mark's small feet could be seen in the snow. Grandpa's eyes filled with tears in an instant. He hurriedly followed in his grandson's footsteps through the yard, down the road and down the path that led into the woods.

It was difficult to follow the tracks in the forest because animals passed there in search of food and shelter. Grandpa didn't know where to go, so he leaned against an old oak tree and cried bitterly. It was already dawn, and the grandfather was still crying under the oak, thinking about his lost grandson.

They went on like that for a long time until they finally reached a larger pile of snow. Grandpa's heart was pounding madly! He ran to the snow and began to scatter it with his hands in all directions. He finally saw his grandson Mark under the snow. He was all blue from the cold and seemed to be asleep. The grandfather quickly took off his fur coat and wrapped his grandson in it, rubbed his hands and face, called out to him in a trembling voice.
