3.The current President of the Republic of Italy is Giorgio Napolitano , elected by vote on 10 May 2006. He became the eleventh President of the Italian Republic on 15 May 2006.



The Colosseum occupies a respected place among the famous monuments in the world and is the most visited in Italy . It was built in the first century BC. and continues to be one of the greatest symbols of the power of the Roman Empire. Its interior, huge and imposing, truly invigorates what were once the glories of the most important empire in history.


La Fontana di Trevi , designed in 1732 by Nicola Salvi, is one of the most beautiful fountains in the world . Salvi's spectacular and surprising design still retains its direct charm, appearing in numerous films, from Fellini's "La Dolce Vita" and "Holiday in Rome" with Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck to the Italian classic.


Ponte Vecchio ("Old Bridge" in Italian) is the oldest bridge in Florence and was the only bridge over the river Arno until 1218. The most important features of this bridge are that it does not seem to be a traditional bridge and is distinguished by the fact that it still has handicraft shops along its entire length, plus a 16th-century secular passage belonging to the Medici family. The shops at Ponte Vecchio overlook the central passage, each with a single closed window with thick wooden doors.


The Torre di Pisa is a true symbol of Italy. Impressive, curious and visited by millions of tourists every year, there is no more representative photo than the one that thousands of people take, trying to support the tower. But what you probably didn't know is that the entire Piazza dei Miracoli surrounding the Leaning Tower of Pisa is just as beautiful.


Duomo di Milano , the imposing Gothic cathedral of Milan , made of white-pink marble from the Candoglia quarries, can accommodate 40,000 people. In the splendid square that bears her name you can admire the golden statue of the Madonna, which is on the highest peak.


Basilica di San Marco is, without a doubt, one of the most important Italian monuments, which simply should not be missed. It is located at the end of Piazza San Marco , connected to the Palazzo del Doge . This monument is famous because it is surrounded by the charm of Venice, the city by the sea.




The arena , the Roman amphitheater, is without a doubt the most representative and well-known monument in the city of Verona. It was built at the end of the first century BC to house the gladiatorial fights that were fashionable in ancient Rome.


Castel dell'Ovo is the oldest fortress in Naples and is located on an islet, known since ancient times as "Megaris", in front of the port of Santa Lucia.


Castel del Monte , the place of mysteries and magic, is a 13th century fortress built by the emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, Frederick II, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1996.
