It explores the financial crisis in France, the dissatisfaction with King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette, the formation of the National Assembly, the storming of the Bastille, and the rise of Maximilien Robespierre. The story ends with the establishment of the Directory and Napoleon Bonaparte assuming power.
