I stared at Harper for a minute. She had a white dress on and she had her aqua colored glasses. Her hair was dyed though--Her mom lets her dye it every summer. Now it was a a plum purple. She also had thistle purple lipstick on. LIPSTICK! Behind her was my old friend Stella.
She also had died hair. Stella´s hair was a lawn green color. She had a white dress on too. She also had pale green lipstick. GREEN LIPSTICK!
¨What do you want Harper?¨
¨I just came to tell you that Stella and I are best friends now. So now you have no friends.¨
¨Actually I do have friends. Ryker and I are friends.¨
¨Nope. I was just at his house. He said it was your fault his arm is broken.¨
¨Whatever. Just go.¨ I said. She smirked, tossed her hair, and left. There was no way she was serious about what Ryker said. She never went to his house, she doesn't even know where he lived.

Just then my phone rang in the living room. I went to get it, saw the name on it was Ryker´s, and when up to my room.
¨Hi Ryker!¨ I said.
¨Hey Karina. Hey I was wondering if you were doing anything tomorrow?¨
¨Uh nope.¨
¨Well my dad landed me two tickets to the carnival. I was wondering if you wanted to go?¨
¨Oh sure! I love the carnival!¨
¨Okay! Ill pick you up tomorrow at noon.¨ he hung up then. I smiled and stared at my phone case. It was a dark olive green color and i taped a picture of me and Ryker on it at swim practice. I went to bed then after I changed.
As I was lying down I was thinking. Did he ask me because I was his friend? Yeah probably. He doesn't think of me like how i think of him. I couldn't wait for tomorrow.

The next day I picked a steel blue colored shirt and some of my ripped jeans. I got my green sneakers. I borrowed one of my mom´s necklaces. It was a silver chain with a light blue heart in the center.
I heard the doorbell and smiled. I went downstairs. When we got to the carnival we went on rides, Ryker won a stuffed beaver and gave it to me. We bought cotton candy, pretzels, and sodas. I was having such a fun time. We were walking around and talking now.
¨Okay what ride do you want to go on now?¨ I asked.
¨Hmmm how about the ferris wheel?¨ he asked.
¨Sure!¨ I said. We ran over. We each started out with 25 tickets, and now we each had 14 and the ferris wheel cost 5. You could win tickets at the games. We waited in line.
¨Im really glad you decided to come. Im having a lot of fun.¨ Ryker said, reaching for my hand with his non-broken arm.
I blushed. Just then it was our turn to get into the ride.
He let me in first and I laughed. The ferris wheel was super tall. It had 28 seats. When we reached the top it stopped. I thought it stopped because it was our turn to see the town.
¨Wow that is a really good view of the town. But I hope its almost time for us to get down. I need to use the restroom.¨ I said, and we both laughed.
¨Yeah it is a great view.¨ he said, and it took me a minute to realize he wasn't looking at the city. He was looking at me.
He leaned closer and I knew what he was doing, but unlike Dean I didn't push away. When our lips were just inches apart I decided to close that bit of space. It couldnt have lasted more than 10 seconds but it felt endless. But when it finally ended he just stared at me. Then he flushed.
¨I uh im sorry I should have like asked first or something.¨
¨No its fine I um other people should ask but not you.¨
Before he could respond we heard a loudspeaker from the ground. The ride operator was trying to tell everyone on the ride something.
¨Boys, girls, men, and women. Something is wrong with the ride! We will fix it shortly. If you have phones call your parents and let them know you will be on there for a while. The ride should be fixed in about an hour!¨
I looked at Ryker. An hour? Suddenly all the awkwardness was gone and I hugged Ryker, afraid to look down. I knew I looked like a scared little girl, and in a way I was.
¨Hey whats wrong?¨ he asked.
¨I um im afraid of heights.¨ I said.
¨You weren't afraid of them earlier.¨
¨T-that was before we were stuck.¨ I said, and I started to cry. For a minute Ryker didn't seem to know what to do, and then he wrapped his arm around me and kept telling me that it would be fine.
I hugged him tighter and closed my eyes tight.
