1. Ordinary
Charlotte, Starlet, and Scott Harris were completely normal kids. They were each eleven years old, triplets. Charlotte, the oldest by 40 seconds, had black hair that went halfway down her back, and dark brown eyes. Starlet, older than Scott by 30 seconds, had shoulder length brown hair and dark brown eyes. And finally, the youngest. Scott Harris had brown hair and brown eyes.
Just plain and ordinary kids. They were not identical triplets, but they were born on the same day, same year, same time, with the same mother. That made them triplets.
Just like how this was a plain and ordinary day, until after school. “Hey come over here.” Charlotte called to Starlet, who was talking to her friend. Starlet said goodbye to her friend, and went over to Charlotte.
“Whats up?” Starlet asked.
“I have a missed call from mom”
“So?” Starlet asked, confused.
“Hold up,” Charlotte said. “Scott get over here!” Scott looked up from his book, and
walked over to them. Charlotte picked up her phone and called their mother, to see what she needed.
“Hello? Mom? Are you there?” Charlotte said into the phone, putting it on speaker.
“Yes, I am here.” their mother answered. At that moment, Starlet grabbed the phone from Charlotte and held it up in the air, laughing when Charlotte tried to get it. Charlotte was the shortest of the three, and Starlet was the tallest.
“Why did you do that?!” Charlotte shrieked. Charlotte managed to get the phone back.
“Im sorry! Okay? Jeez!” Starlet cried out.
“Im sorry too.” Charlotte said, then they hugged. The Harris house was full of fights and hugs, this was just a normal wednesday.
Charlotte started laughing. “Whats so funny?” Starlet asked her.
“Oh, nothing.” Charlotte answered, laughing harder.
“Seriously, whats so funny?” Starlet asked again.
“Fine, the thing thats making me laugh is...nothing! Dun, Dun, Dun.” charlotte said.
Scott rolled his eyes, and Starlet remember he was standing there. “You guys are so weird.” he said, shaking his head in disbelief.
Just then, Charlotte remembered their mother, still waiting on the phone. “Uh, mom, how much did you hear?” Charlotte asked, speaking into the phone.
“The whole thing. You three are dorks.” their mother answered teasingly.
Charlotte cringed and said, “Well this is awkward.” Her siblings nodded, agreeing with her.
“Here, Scott, talk to mom.” Charlotte said, handing over the phone.
“Uh, no way, I have book club later, I am way too tired to talk right now and I need to save my energy for our meeting.” Scott stammered.
“Fine, nerd,” Charlotte said, taking the phone back, then immediately giving it to Starlet. “Talk to your mother.”
“Alright,” Starlet agreed, agreeingly taking the phone from Charlotte. “Hey mom, so what did you want to tell us?”

Charlotte Harris
Starlet Harris
Scott Harris
“I do not have time to explain, but I need you three to twist your rings, cross your eyes, and count to three.” their mom said.
“Mom that is completely ridiculous.” Starlet said, rolling her eyes and looking at her ring. Their mother had given them each rings when they turned nine. Charlotte’s was orange, Starlet’s was blue, and Scott’s was gold. Each of them had their birthstone in the center. Peridot, for August.
“Just trust me.” their mom said.
“No, were gonna look stupid in front of our friends.” Scott said, glancing over his shoulder to the groups waiting for them.
“Fine, don't do it.”
“Guys come on, lets just do it. I mean, what could a little humiliation kill?” Charlotte said. Scott and Starlet nodded, and they they twisted their rings, crossed their eyes, and counted to three.
