One day, there was a girl called Kaitleen. She wanted to become a scout so her parents enrolled their daughter into a scout camp. Kaitleen was super excited. Soon, it was the day for Kaitleen to go to scout camp. She walked boldly and smiled broadly. "What's your name?" asked the the camp leader Tom, kindly. "I'm Kaitleen. You can call me Kait for short. I am looking forward to learning new things in this camp." Kait answered.

As soon as Kait took a seat she realised that she was the only girl scout. The boy scouts teased her but Kait stayed brave and positive. "At the end of today I will give one of you guys a AWESOME badge to the one who does everything properly." Camp leader Tom told. Then he told everyone how to make a fire. "Making a fire is a signal of help." he explained. Only Kait was listening. Then, Camp Leader Tom told everyone that is was important to always take a bandage in your Scout Backpack.

Soon, it was time to go into the forest to collect some twigs. Everyone partnered up. Kait was with Lucas. Everyone put maps, bandages and other important things inside their Scout backpack. Lucas threw his bag away saying that he didn't need it. "But Lucas you need to get your bag!" told Kait. Lucas opened Kait's bag and angrily tore her map. "I'm going on my own! I don't need a girl scout!" shouted Lucas and ran into the forest.

Kait ran after him forgetting that she could get lost. But Lucas was fast. "I lost him!" cried Kait. Not only did Kait get lost, so did Lucas! He ran and ran and got completely lost. "HELP!" called Lucas, tears welling in his eyes. But no one could hear him because he was far off. If only he didn't throw his backpack, he could have found his way back with his map.

Lucas was inside the forest until it was pitch dark. Lucas kept on walking thinking that he was getting closer but he was actually getting more farther. There was a heavy rock that was blocking the way but Lucas couldn't see it because it was dark and he accidentally scraped his knee. "Ouch! HELP!" called out Lucas. He was now crying.
HELP!
Lucas kept on sobbing and sobbing.

Suddenly there was a stick breaking. "What was that? Don't come any closer to me whoever you are!!" yelled Lucas, terrified. There was a shuffle in the bushes. "I said don't come any closer!" Lucas shouted, his hand trembling. "Lucas!" a voice familiar shouted.
LUCAS!
It was Kait! "Oh no! You've scraped your knee!" Kait said using her torch to see the scrape. "Here." said Kait. She opened her Scout backpack and took out a bandage. Lucas put on the bandage and said "We're lost!" "If only you hadn't ripped my map we could have gone back to the camp. Anyway, Camp Leader Tom told us that making a fire is a signal of help. The scout camp might find us then!" told Kait.
