PROLOGUE
It was past midnight when they came. They stalked through the darkened forest. They brought big trucks and big weapons, preparing to cut down all of the trees in the forest. The animal's who inhabited the forest felt hopeless and filled with fear. As the big trucks and weapons got closer, the animals felt more helpless and lost.

Suddenly, the bushes shuttered and out came a beautiful unicorn. She reared up and pointed her powerful horn at the strange creatures attacking. A bright light appeared, and the creatures were thrown back. The animals watched in amazement as the big creatures looked at the unicorn in fear, and quickly ran away. " who are you?" A foxed asked, " I'm The Unicorn." The Unicorn said in a dramatic voice, before disappearing into the morning light.
THE STORY
The morning light glowed through the trees of the beautiful forest. There, animals of all kinds gathered, playing joyfully in the green grass. The wolves talked among themselves about a strange rumor that had started. They talked about a mysterious unicorn who saved the animal's habitats. "No way!" One of the wolves exclaimed, "They went extinct years ago!" At that, the pack leader, Rose, rolled her eyes at them. "Stop talking nonsense!" She snapped, "It's only a rumor." The two wolves ducked their heads in shame as their pack leader yelled at them.
Rose thought for a bit about the rumor that had started. I need to talk to the other leaders. She thought, Before it gets out of hand. She jumped down from her spot on a tree branch, where she called her pack to order. She looked around for the leader of the lions and the leader of the foxes. Rose found them sitting down by the giant tree, they sat there in the shade, looking far out in the distance, as if staring at something miles away. Rose ran up to them. "We need to talk about this rumor that has started."
"Are you sure it's just a rumor?" The leader of the foxes asked, "It could be possible, especially in this great time of need." The lion leader rolled his eyes at the fox leader's words. "Did you hit your head or something?" He asked, "Unicorns went extinct years ago because of habitat loss." Rose watched as they continued to argue. "It could be a miracle!" The fox said, her eyes shone with hope. The lion just looked at her with disbelief. "You're joking right?" He asked, "Do you really believe that a animal can come back from extinction?"
The wolf rolled her eyes at the two arguing leaders. "Either way we still have to stop this rumor before everyone knows!" She growled, "We are still the leaders no matter what we believe!" The other two leaders nodded their heads in agreement. "We should make the announcement now." The leader of the lions said, "We have to hurry before the wolves go out hunting, and the foxes go patrolling." "Then hurry up!" Rose challenged as she bolted away towards the tree branch.
Rose sat alert on the tree branch, looking down at the other animals. The other leaders came up quickly beside her. She howled to get the animal's attention. "We called this meeting to discuss a rumor that has been going around." Rose started, "You all have talked about a mysterious unicorn who saved the animals from a far away forest from the evil creatures who had tried to take their land." "It's all just a rumor." The lion leader said, "There is no need to believe such a thing." The fox leader said nothing, and just rolled her eyes.
"You two have already shared your opinions." One of the foxes said from below the tree branch. "What does our leader have to say about this?" The two leaders looked at each other, there was only one animal who could answer this, and that was the fox leader. The fox leader spoke after a few moments of silence. " I am not sure what I believe, but I do know that a story can get mixed up after traveling very far." The fox looked satisfied with his leaders response, and sat back down.
"This meeting is at an end!" The wolf leader announced, "Continue the patrols." As the leader's jumped down from their spots on the tree branch, they noticed something strange happening over by the giant tree where the animals went to eat their food. A creature with a big weapon was cutting the tree down! All three leaders looked at each other in fear as the the tree fell. "We have to do something before the creature cuts something else down!" The fox leader shouted over the noise of the
weapon in the creatures hand. "What are we going to do?" The lion leader asked, "Go over there and ask nicely?" He said in a sarcastic tone. The fox leader rolled her eyes and turned to the wolf leader. "Any ideas?" She asked. The wolf leader just shook her head. "We should get the other animals who haven't gone on patrol yet." The lion leader stood there for a second staring at the place where the tree used to stand.
