I am a sun ray dancing in an open field
I wonder where the wind may take me
I hear birds chirping and kids laughing
I see beauty in everything
I want to feel the breeze in my hair
I am a blooming flower
I pretend I don't yearn for something more
I feel ambitious and hopeful
I worry about where i’ll end up
I cry out of despair
I am a blooming flower
I understand nothing yet
I say life goes on
I dream about living in a paradise
I try to escape to freedom
I hope I can stay there forever
I am a sun ray dancing in paradise
I Am Poem: What the Future May Hold
- I wrote this poem in a way that could be interpreted differently from multiple points of views. The figurative language I used helped to set a scene and provide the reader with analogies which help determine the mood and theme. I wrote this poem envisioning a memory of youth and happiness, wondering what my future may bring me and afraid of what could happen, but still keeping a positive mindset and having high hopes and dreams of being successful and happily at peace.

Bio Poem: Jasmine Ayala
I wrote the poem this way to give the reader an idea how the person they're reading about is (me!), showing personality and emotions. I used a simile to paint an image of how the characters energy feels like. I tried to give the reader an insight into my interests. I intend to feel familiar and almost like a friend to the reader.
Jasmine
Charismatic, confident, enthusiastic and bright like the stars on a cloudless night
daughter of Gloria and Gerardo
Lover of music, family and God
Who feels empathy, happiness and ambition
Who needs money, a vacation and her family
Who gives her time, love and friendship
Who fears being unsuccessful, forgetting memories and bugs
Who would like to see the northern lights, Fuerza Regida front row and my grandparents in Mexico
Resident of Santee

Definition Poem: Success
Success : [suc·cess], noun, plural noun: successes,
the accomplishment of an aim or purpose:
I daydream in class
i close my eyes at night and imagine all the possibilities for my future
I reach for the stars
longing for more
refusing to give up
I will be a star
fear is the rock dragging me down
I release myself from it
I can finally see it
success.
Definition Poem: Success
I wrote this poem the way I did to give the reader a sense of the word "success". I tried achieving that feeling by using motivating and inspiring phrases. When I think of success I feel like I want to work hard and reach my goals. I want to show ambition through my poem. I used metaphors to paint an image of fear holding you back from growing and taking risks which could end up being great opportunities.
Recreation Poem: All Good Things Must Come to an End
I wrote the poem to represent the end of a friendship. It gives a feeling of nostalgia and maybe even grief for the end of a friendship that no longer exists. It sends the message that things wont always go back to the way it was before. Things end and that marks the start to new beginnings which can be a good thing. The point is to remind the reader to reminisce on the good times while still letting go and being able to close that chapter in life.
All Good Things Must Come to an End
There was once a spark as bright as fire
Now they have just burned into ashes
There once was a bond that seemed unbreakable
Quietly comforting one another with just their presence alone
The bell rings
We laugh, we joke and make memories
But all good things Must Come to an end
Cracks begin to form
You begin to pull away inch by inch
Now we walk past like strangers
I hear your footsteps
I hear your footsteps
I reminisce on how they use to sound running up to me in excitement
We used to talk in the halls between classes
Now all I hear is hissing
followed by the barks of your new friends
I still remember how we sang together in car rides through the foggy roads
Now I just sing alone
The sun rises once again and I get a fresh start
Because all good things must come to an end

Imitation Poem: Saved by the Bell
At 2:32 in the afternoon
It was exactly 2:32 in the afternoon
The bell has rung
At 2:32 in the afternoon
The kids packed up
At 2:32 in the afternoon
everyone said goodbye
At 2:32 in the afternoon
rushing through the doors
At 2:32 in the afternoon
shoes squeaking on the floors
At 2:32 in the afternoon
chatter fills the halls
At 2:32 in the afternoon
lockers bang on the walls
At 2:32 in the afternoon
at exactly 2:32 in the afternoon
we all scatter like rats
At 2:32 in the afternoon
ready to go home
At 2:32 in the afternoon
Imitation Poem: Saved by the Bell
In this poem It uses the repetition of the time to emphasize that things can change from on second to another. I wrote about finally being dismissed from school when the last bell rings. Expressing the freedom that students feel when being released. Freedom to do as they please and to be done with learning for the day. I also used rhyming in this poem. I tried using it to illustrate the halls that are filled with students and teachers trying to finally go home..
Limerick Poem: Congratulations
This poem was a short one. I wrote this poem about graduating. I tried to express the bittersweet feeling of leaving high school. I used rhyming patterns and brought it all together at the end. I want to capture the feeling you get when you think back on the good old days.
Limerick Poem: Congratulations
Excited for ours graduations
They will tell us congratulations
Go our separate ways
Remember the days
And remember our interactions
