Cats By megann
Are you curious about mysterious cat creatures? Then you should read this.
Cats can live anywhere if they have food and shelter. They could live in a house, barn anywhere pretty much.
Some cats eat weird things like cheese, leftovers also of course cat food. Some cats can be picky eaters. They need lots of water.
Cats can be many shapes, sizes, colors. There are some without fur. They usally weigh up to 7.9 pounds but I had a cat that was 18 pounds so you never know about those crazy things. Cats should live up to 12 to 18 years. Cats hight can be mysterious you never know how tall they get.
Cats show their love by grabing your hand hold on. By showing other animals that were their property they put their smell on you. You want to know something funny when your sleeping they sleep on your head that’s their way of protecting you and feeling safe and warm to get a good night sleep.
Cats are mysterious creatures. I hope this story let you learn about the mysterious creatures cats.

All about Horses By: Destiny D.
Every time I race my friends when I’m outside playing, I always pretend to be a horse. Did you know that horses can run faster than you? I did!!! Horse can run 25 to 35 miles per hour. I can run fast but not as fast as a horse. I am going to be talking about horses where they live, what they eat and some very interesting facts.
Horses live in North America, Europe and Asia. Horses do a great job staying warm in the winter. They grow a nice winter coat that protects them and keep them warm. This is very helpful especially during winter in North America, Europe and Asia.
Feeding your horses healthy foods keeps them from getting sick. Horses like to eat carrots, apples and concentrates. It is important for them to eat a healthy diet. Horses who are fed cubes and grains most of the time are at risk for having stomach issues.
Horses have many predators. Some of their predators are mountain lions, wolves and coyotes. Sometimes their predators sneak up on them and attack them without warning. It is a good thing horses can run fast.
Overall, horses are my favorite animals. They are excellent runner. They have healthy diets. Most horses can outrun their predators. That’s what make horses so awesome!

All About Platypi By Cassidy L.
The platypus is very unique with their duck bill and feet, otter body and fur, and beaver tails. And if their usual name was not weird enough, their actual name is Ornithorhynchus anatinus. They are also mammals, nocturnal, and are omnivores. They live in Australia and Tasmania. When scientist first saw the platypus, they thought it was a victim of a hoax. And if you read on, you will become very intelligent when it comes to the incredible platypus.
Their duck bill gives them a sixth sense. It relies on its sense of touch. The platypus sways its head from side to side while swimming as a way to develop this sixth sense. Thanks to the leathery texture, it is very sensitive which makes it a primary tool in locating prey while underwater. The usual prey of a platypus is shrimp, insects, crayfish, worms, and fish eggs.
Platypi do not have stomachs. And yet the platypus will eat up to 30 percent of its body weight each day. Many species of animals, such as the carp, lost their stomachs in the past. Scientists found in the species they have examined,
stomach loss was linked with the loss of the genes responsible for pepsin and acid digestion. I am interested to find out what would happen if those were put back into platypi and other stomach-less species.
Male platypi have stingers on the heels of their rear feet, which they can use to deliver a dose of poison to predators and other threats. Platypus venom probably will not kill you, but it will cause swelling at the wound site and extreme pain that could last for weeks. But it may kill predators and other platypus.
Even though they are mammals, they lay eggs instead of just giving birth out of an egg. Their eggs are usually laid 2 at a time. They are born hairless and blind which make them very vulnerable to their predators, eagles, owls, hawks, crocodile, water rats, and snakes. The average baby is about 4 inches long, and they weigh about 1 pound. They learn how to swim after a few months, and then they go live on their own.
The unique, special, bizarre platypus never seems to stop shocking people. With their duck/otter/beaver body, how they are omnivores, nocturnal, and are mammals, and their very extraordinary name, Ornithorhynchus anatinus, they might just blow you away! Now that your pretty knowledgeable on platypuses, you can teach others, and continue to amaze.

Emperor Penguins By Aleksandra R.
Picture a chubby bird wearing a tuxedo. You are probably picturing a penguin right now. According to Abi Cushman’s article “Emperor Penguin Facts for Kids,” there are seventeen different types of penguins, but one of the most interesting is the Emperor penguin. To help them live in Antarctica, Emperor penguins have certain ways of eating, looking, and raising their babies.
First, Emperor penguins like to eat many foods in Antarctica. They like different types of seafood like crustaceans, fish, and squid (Arlon and Gordon-Harris 11). Penguins hunt for this food from the ocean. They have to eat a lot to help build up their fat stores, which helps keep them warm on the open ice. Emperor penguins rely on their environment for food.
Next, Emperor penguins are tall tuxedo birds, which means they look like they are wearing tuxedos. Emperor penguins are black and white with yellow under their necks. The article “Emperor Penguin” says that they can weigh up to 88 pounds and be 45 to 50 inches tall. The most interesting thing about the way Emperor penguins look is that they have four layers of waterproof feathers (Cushman). It’s like they’re wearing a wetsuit, which
helps them stay warm in the cold ocean.
Third, all baby penguins hatch from eggs because they are birds. All the males stay in a group and keep the eggs warm for 65 days (“Emperor Penguin”). When they get older, Penelope Arlin and Tory Gordon-Harris say the babies stay in big groups called creches while the parents are out getting food.
In conclusion, Emperor penguins have a very interesting way of eating, looking, and having babies. Emperor penguins are big, fat birds that have an interest in fish. The next time you go to the zoo, be sure to look at the penguins.

Canis Latrans by Nolan C.
I go for walks in the woods a lot. One day I hear leaves rustling and twigs snapping. My heart starts to race! I am not sure what is making the noise and then I see a German Shepherd. Or is it? I realize the dog I see, and hear isn’t a dog at all but a Coyote. Canis Latrans. Click the box below to hear the Coyote!
Coyotes live all over the United states, not just in Michigan. Coyotes look like a German Shepherd. Coyotes are 32 to 37in tall, and weigh 20 to 50 pounds. There is a wide variety in color of their coats. The color of their coat depends on where they live. For instance, in the desert their coat is much lighter in color. In a wooded area their fur is much darker. The fur covering their throat and belly is usually cream to gray in color. The color of their coat matches the climate that they live in.
Coyotes are omnivores. That means they eat both plants and animals. Small mammals such as mice, rabbits, hares, and squirrels are preferred foods.

However, insects, fruits, berries, birds, frogs, snakes, plants, and seeds round out their diet. I really don’t think they are picky eaters since they will eat garbage!
The females have babies in the spring. They give birth to three to twelve pups. The pups are called litters. Both of the parents help take care of the pups. They both hunt and bring food to the den for the pups. They both also defend the pups from predators. Click on the box to hear a Coyote pup.
Coyotes are considered nuisances in some areas. They will eat small pets and livestock. People hunt Coyotes. Some for the hides and some to rid the area of pests. Decoys, dogs and calls all can be used to hunt Coyotes. Some farmers hire people to rid their farms of Coyotes to protect their livestock.
So next time you are walking in the woods, and hear leaves rustling, and twigs snapping remember to look closely. Coyotes live all over North America. They can look just like a German Shepherd. They can be right in your back yard and you may not even know it!

All about Dogs By Amad L.
Dogs where the symbol of the healing god Ninisinas. I am going to be talking about dog’s habitat, predators, appreance, babies, and service dogs.
Dogs live in dog shelters, on the street, houses with their owners, and in woodlands areas. Dogs are the most common household pet. Dogs can be found in dessert places (Adams).
Dogs are prey and predators, they prey on small animals for food. Dog predators are wolfs, tigers, and big cats. (Cole; Dakota and salzano).
Dogs come in different shapes and sizes. For instance, take a Chihuahua that dog is small, now, take a Tibet mastiff that dog is very big. People think dogs are color blind, but they are not color blind. There are two meanings to color blind, one means you cannot see color, the other means you see colors differently. For example, Dogs do not see a rainbow as green, violet, and blue like humans. Dogs see colors as light brown, blue, gray, light yellow, and very dark grey (Steiert).
Full breed dog puppies look like a miniature dog. If mixed, puppies will look half of 1 dog and half of the other. Puppies are blind for 2 weeks; then several weeks for their eyes to develop and able to see (Shojai).
Dogs help police, the blind, and deaf People. Dogs help cancer patients and people with diabetes. For instance, they can detect diabetic patients, if their blood sugar is to low or too high. They also help cancer patients relax and get rid of anxiety (Cancer Treatment Center of American).
Dogs are caring and helpful companions. They help medical patients, the police, and military personnel. Dogs have been mentioned in mythology stories with gods such as the Ninisinas story for thousands of years. So, my thoughts on dogs is that they have been around for thousands of years.

My Facts I learned On Chihuahuas Hailey S.
Hi, my name is Hailey. My favorite animal is a dog. Well, one certain breed I really love is Chihuahuas. I will be presenting you with fun facts. An why I love them.
Their size is number one reason why I love them. The typical Chihuahua weighs 3-6 pounds. They can be smaller but normally not very healthy if smaller. For my fifth birthday, I got my first Chihuahua puppy. The facts I just stated I found on dogtime.com if anyone wants to come learn with me.
North American breeders developed the Chihuahuas we know today. First Chihuahua ever registered by the AKC (American Kennel Club) was in 1904. That means to me they been here a very long time. Which warms my heart. The Chihuahua club of America was formed in the early 1920’s period. Which I loved to learn these new facts on this type of dog. I got my facts I talked about here from vetstreet.com.
What makes me even happier about researching on my favorite dog is they have long lives. Yay! Chihuahuas can live to be 17 years old. In addition, I learned that they are known cockiest smallest dog ever. Which makes them have a little personality that is more fun. Which made me laugh and think of sissy my old Chihuahua dog. I got my facts I talked about here from dogster.com.
I hope y`all had fun learning new things with me about Chihuahua’s. I know I enjoyed it and learned many new facts. What made it the best for me is I have a true passion for this breed. I hope I get a new Chihuahua puppy soon.

Butterflies by Ayanna L.
The most amazing things that I love about butterflies is the way they change from caterpillars with these four stages which is called Metamorphosis that I’m going to explain.
The first stage of the process is when an adult female Butterfly lay eggs, which are usually on the leaves of plants. The eggs are very small and round and depending on what type of butterfly it is, you can see the tiny caterpillar growing inside of it once eggs are hatched in five days.
The second stage of the process is when a caterpillar is born, it grows fast because it eats a lot. It eats leaves and flowers. They grow so fast that it becomes too big for their own skin. It sheds old skin to get new skin. This is called molting.
The third and fourth stages of the process, is the caterpillar stops growing and makes a chrysalis which is mostly brown or green. It’s the same colors that we see on trees, leaves, or branches. This is to protect themselves from other animals. Once the chrysalis is open, the butterfly comes out and is very colorful. Their wings are wet and soft and folded against its
body. The butterfly is so tired that it rests until it is ready flying.
In conclusion butterflies are very majestic insects with impressive beautifully colored wings that people enjoy watching.

All About Giraffes By Rachel B.
Have you saw something that could be bigger than a house? Well, that something could be a giraffe I like giraffes because giraffes are a one of a kind animal. But I wonder how do giraffe drink?
How do they drink when they have long necks? How do they bend? And I was wondering how fast they can go? But I do know that their babies are big compared to any other animal. A baby giraffe is a giant, weighing 150 pounds and standing six feet tall.
I found out a male giraffe can get to 16-20 feet tall and a female about 15 feet tall.
Did you know that when a baby giraffe drops out of its mother womb when It’ born? A baby giraffe really does drop almost 5 feet to the ground. Only ten hours later the baby will be running with the other giraffes. Also baby giraffes are called calves.
I know giraffes give birth while standing up, so a calf enter the world in such a height they fall six feet to the ground with hooves and head first. I just found out as any other species giraffes are polysemous

The Red Panda By Tristan C.
Out of about 8.7 million animals, the Red Panda is the one I chose to teach you about. As soon as I saw a picture of a Red Panda I wished I had one. I had to research if I could have one and I found out that I can’t own one but I can go through a zoo program to adopt one.
The Red Panda is a small mammal, about the size of a house cat and weighs 10-20 pounds. Their fur is reddish-brown, black and white. They look like a Raccoon in the face and tail. Females give birth to 1-4 live babies, and she usually has twins. In the wild, they live up to 10 years and in a zoo they live up to 15 years.
The Red Panda lives within the Himalayan Mountains of China, India, Nepal and Bhutan. Red Pandas are mostly herbivores, eating 2-4 pounds of bamboo shoots and leaves per day. They also eat eggs, roots, birds, grasses, insects, fallen fruits and small mammals. They can be on the go all parts of the day, however, they are mostly active at dawn or dusk. They spend most of their time in the trees soaking in the sun and hiding from predators.
The Red Panda marks its territory by spraying really strong urine, to keep the predators away, just like the skunk.
The Red Panda was discovered and cataloged in 1825 by a French zoologist, almost 50 years before anyone saw the giant panda. The zoologist described the Red Panda as the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. The Red Panda is also called the lesser panda, cat-bear, bear-cat, Himalayan raccoon, fox bear and firefox.
There are less than 2,500 adult red pandas living today. Places like the Smithsonian’s National Zoo are developing ways, like adoption, to keep the Red Panda from going extinct. Deforestation is a big problem for the Red Panda. I wish I could have a farm where I raised them to make sure they don’t go extinct.

My Reach On Lions By: Thomas W.
Lions are cool animals but there is not very many lions left in the wild. Their population is endangered. There are two different types of lions, the African lions and the Asian lions. There was more lions beside the African and Asian lions but they are all gone now. African and Asian lions are the same and different in many ways.
Most lions found in the wild live in eastern and southern Africa. Asian lions are only found in Gir Forest National Park in India. They are an extremely endangered species, which means there are not very many of them alive. African lions are threatened too! Lions mostly live in habitats that are grasslands and plains. Lions live up to 10 to 14 years old. Lions are very social. African lions are the most social in the cat family! They live in large groups called prides. They have up to 40 lions in a pride. Most African prides have three males and a dozen females and the young. Males are good at hunting but the female lions are better. Female lions are called lionesses and they do 90% of the hunting for the pride.
Asian lion prides are different. The males and the females have their own prides.
Lions are the second biggest animal in the cat family. The lioness weighs an average of 290 pounds, and the male lion weighs an average of 400 pounds. The heaviest lion on record was 826 pounds! The African lion is 4.5 to 6.5 feet long, but the Asian lion is much bigger. They are 6.5 to 9 feet long. A male lion is larger than a lioness.
Even though both African and Asian lions are different from each other, they are the same because there is not very many of them left. Lions are extremely endangered and people need to stop killing them and decreasing their population before they are all gone. They are cool animals and I like lions!

All about the Allosaurus By: Zechariah S.
Hey today I’m going to be telling you about the Allosaurus. This animal lived about 150 million years ago during the late Jurassic period. They about 39 feet tall and weigh about 2.5 tons, they are shaped like a T-rex but smaller. The Allosaurus had huge skulls and walked on its back legs. They travel in pack of three, and also eat meat (carnivores).
The Allosaurus was discovered 163.5 million years ago. Scientist Othniel found “Big Al” in Colorado in 1869 but only pieces. All the bones were found by H.F. Hubbell in 1879 but the fossils weren’t put together until 1908 because he died. They name the Allosaurus “Big Al”, they first one they found was a teenager. It became very popular after 10,000 bones were found in Utah.
An Allosaurus weighs about 2.5 tons about 1 ½ blue whales. They are 39 feet about as tall as a house. It has three very sharp claws on the feet and paws which was good use for striking when they are fighting for food or dominance. It’s green with spikes coming out of its spine
they are known to be a lot of different colors. It has to humps on its head above the eyes that are used for mating.
Its teeth are as sharp as a saw good for eating meat. They hunt animals smaller than them researches say they hunted other dinos such as Brachiosaurus, Santanuraptor, Iguanodons (camptosaurus) and lastly stegosaurus. The Allosaurus hunted in packs of three so they can take on bigger animals the Allosaurus feeds together and leave scraps to other animals.
Allosaurus are one of my favorite animals and they are very interesting. There is a lot more to know about them. Just because they are very big animals doesn’t mean they would have survive. You can’t see them alive anymore but they have fossils in a lot of museums even though they are extinct.

Catfish Habitation. By Gospel I.
Catfish are ray-finned fish that live in fresh, salt or shallow running water in countries like Africa, Asia, Europe, and North America. It is a fatty scale less fish that can sink in rivers and lake rather than float due to reduced gas bladder and a heavy bony head.
There are three types of catfish namely: The Mekong Giant Catfish from Southeast Asia, Wels Catfish of Eurasia and Paraiba of South America. Catfish has its olive light blue and bluish-gray color based on the habitant it is found. It can live in a habitat for fifteen to twenty years. The bigger catfish feed on snails, insects, algae, crawfish and plants as Omnivorous animals while the smaller catfish feed on insect larvae. Catfish eat by suction or gulping rather than biting and cutting which make them different from other fish.
Catfish survive in its habitat with the aid of their long sensory hair organ called barbells with small eyes. They use the spines that produces venom to sting for defense against predators for, to as many eggs as it can. The hatchlings remains in the nest and are guarded by the
male catfish for a week
The best time to catch a catfish is when it is dark, particularly at night or early in the morning. Fishing for catfish requires a sturdy net and superb fishing gadgets also knowing the season that catfish are plentiful.
Catfish is from the Animalia, Phylum- Chordata kingdom, in the Actinopcergii class and in the Siluriformes order. They are scale less fish that are mostly found in fresh, salt, running water which makes catfish have a muddy taste and it’s best eaten when fried than any other form of cooking.

Bats By Gavin L.
What do you know about bats? There are many fun facts about bats that you may not know about. Did you know that they are a mammal? A mammal is a warm blooded animal that gives birth to its babies. Did you know that bats like to eat mosquitos? Today we will learn a lot more about what they eat and where they live.
First off, bats like to eat all different kind of food depending on the kind of bat. Fruit bats like to eat fruit where the micro bats eat mosquitoes. And others like to eat strange food such as frogs, fish, or even scorpions. Yuck! Did you know that a single little brown bat can eat almost 1,000 mosquitoes in an hour? Wow! That is a lot to eat for such a small animal. They hunt for their food at night because they are nocturnal animals. Which means they sleep all day and are up at night.

Next, bats live in many places all over the world except where it is to hot such as the Sahara Desert or where it is really cold like in Antarctica. Bats prefer to live in dark caves so they can sleep during the day but you may find them hanging from a tree or barns. Have you ever seen a bat in the winter? Probably no because in n the winter bats will go into hibernation where they sleep all winter. They while hide away in caves or tunnels where they won’t be disturbed.
Finally, there are many different kinds of mammals in the world. Humans, cats, dogs and even bats are mammals. They have hair or fur that keeps their bodies warm. Did you know that they bat is the only mammal that can fly? That is a nifty treat that makes them very unique compared to other mammals. Bats even have hands and fingers too. The
fingers are formed in the wing span helping the animal to grip on to trees when they are sleeping.
In conclusion we have learn many fun facts about bats. How much they can eat to where they like to live. And that in some ways they are just like humans but are different at the same time making them an interesting animal to see. They are a help to control to the mosquitoes population. And can sleep all winter long with needing any food.

All About Horses By Roxy R. The most interesting animal to me is the horse. They are used for so many things, but my favorite is to just admire them. Horses come in some many different breeds, colors, and sizes.
Horses carry their babies for 11 months, since they are usually have their babies in the spring. The coolest part about the birth of a colt is, as soon as 30 minutes after they are born they stand and walk with their shaky legs. At 6 months old it is ready to be separated from its mother. Normal size of horses is (58 in. /148cm). The normal size of a pony (58 in. /148cm). Horses eat hay, apples, carrots, grass, oat mix, and even alfalfa. There human, mountain lion, wolf, coyotes, and even bears. Horses live everywhere, very cold places like Antarctica. They stay usually in grass lands because it’s getting lower on food so that’s why they live in grass lands.
Did you know horses can sleep standing up and down? Did you know in the 19th century horse named ‘Old Billy’ is said to live to 62 years old and the normal life spend of a horse is 25 to 30 years. Horses have 205 bones (54 vertebral column, 36 ribs, 1 sternum, 34 skull, 40 front, 40 in the hind legs).
Horses are used in shows and rodeos. They are also uses on farms as work horse because depending on their size they can pull up to 6x their own weight. Isn’t that cool! Hopefully after all this you will look at horses in a whole new way!

The Life of A Lemur Written by: Gavyn H.
Lemurs are an interesting animal. There are more than 20 species of Lemur and they are all found in Madagascar. They are also the smallest primate in the world. Here are some of the interesting facts I found about Lemurs.
Lemurs as a whole live in forests. They live in mostly female dominated groups of 15 to 20 animals, spending most of their time in trees. Groups of Lemurs are called troops. Most Lemurs sleep during the day and search for their food at night. They have yellow or orange colored eyes that are very easy to spot. Lemurs have bushy tails that have 26 black and white rings around it. Their tails are bigger than their whole body, measuring 22 inches!
Lemurs love to eat insects, fruit, flowers and other plants. They prefer to eat leaves and flowers from a specific tree called the Tamarind Tree. Lemurs are most commonly night hunters for their food and spend most of their time in trees. They
store fat from the food in their tails and hind legs. Which is usually around 35% of their body weight.
Male and female Lemurs have different times of activity. Females are mostly inactive during warmer months from April/May to September/December, while male Lemurs are more active during this time. Females typically do not leave their tree holes during their inactive periods. Lemurs prefer to live in areas that have not been disturbed by human activity.
There are so many awesome things about Lemurs. They are cute animals but definitely I wouldn’t suggest getting too close. There are many species of Lemurs but they all seem to have most traits in common. I liked learning about Lemurs and all of their habits and ways of living. I hope you enjoyed learning about them as well!!

Have you ever heard of a prairie dog? Prairie dogs are cool rodents that can live in the wild and can also live in a home environment as a pet. They are very cute and stout animals with a lot of unique and interesting features. If you would like to know more about prairie dogs then keep on reading.
Prairie dogs can be found in Mexico, Canada and the United States. There are five different species of prairie dogs. The different kinds are white- tailed, black- tailed, Gunnison’s, Utah and Mexican. The black-tailed prairie dog is the most well-known out of the five. Praire dogs are known to live in the grasslands of North America.
Also, prairie dogs are very unique. They have very round heads, short legs and hairy tails. Prairie dogs have very sharp claws making them excellent diggers. The average height of a prairie dog is between twelve to fifteen inches long. The average weight of a prairie dog is about one to three pounds. Prairie dogs can grow to be about the size of a large squirrel.
However, even though these special little animals have the word “dog” in their names; prairie dogs are not a part of the canine family. Prairie dogs are from the rodent family and are primarily herbivorous. Ninty eight percent of their diet consist of grass, roots, forbs and small seeds. The other two percent of their diet are insects like grasshoppers, beetles and cutworms.
Lastly, prairie dogs received their name because of their warning call. Their bark like sound allows them to alert each other of predators. For each type of predator the prairie dogs has a different type of bark. Some of the prairie dog predators in the wild are the black-footed ferrets, bull snakes and coyotes. The average lifespan of a prairie dog in the wild is three to five years. They can live up to eight years as a pet.
In conclusion, prairie dogs are very unique and interesting animals. Their small squirrel like quailities helps them to survive in the wild. Also, prairie dogs barks allow them to communicate with each other when danger is near. I hope you enjoyed learning about prairie dogs.

All About Hamsters By Kiana H.
Close your eyes and IMAGINE what it would be like to have a hamster. You would have to learn everything about them. You would know everything about them. Well, I do! I will tell you all about hamsters, starting with baby hamsters. Hamster moms can have 6 to 20 pups in a litter, the babies stay with their mothers until they are about 3 or 4 weeks of age. The weird thing is, the hamster moms will eat their babies if she has too many of them! Do the math; if she has 8 babies but she only has 6 feeding spots, she’ll eat 2 of her babies, no doubt about it! In experiments, scientists have even tried adding more pups to a litter and the added pups will be gone in a matter of minutes (about 30 minutes to be exact)!
Now it’s time to learn about their Habitats. Hamsters mostly live in Greece, Romania, Belgium and northern China and they also live in the wild around the world. They like to live in warm, dry areas, like steppes, sand dunes, and the edges of deserts. Those are the WILD Hamsters. The types of hamsters you might have in your home are the hamsters we call house pet hamsters. They are the domesticated hamsters.
Hamsters are nocturnal which means that they sleep in the daytime and they are up at nighttime. Now does that mean
that they don’t eat in the daytime? Well, they do not eat in the daytime. That just gives you more time to clean up their cage if you have one as a pet!
The Food in a hamster’s life is a very important part of its existence. They will run around and eat ALL NIGHT LONG! They are great at digging and burying food. People who own pet hamsters may feed them store bought pet food but the food you might feed your hamster is berries and nuts. Wild hamsters eat berries and nuts. They love those foods the best.
The Predators that are rolling around waiting for food to hunt are bigger than hamsters and spend most of their time munching on mice or rats. If there are prey around, then the predators aren’t far behind! The predators that are a threat to hamsters are cats, birds, foxes, dogs, and snakes. Tiny hamsters are no match to these predators which are everywhere in their habitats.
Hamsters are the cutest rodents out there. I enjoyed learning a lot about hamsters. I hope you learned new information about them too!

The Mexican black king snake is one of nine races of the common king snake. This subspecies is distinct from others, exhibiting different coloration behavior and habitat preference. Mexican black king snakes are medium size
snakes. The hatchlings are 8 inches in length, over the next 2 to 4 years they grow to the adult length 40 inches. In rare cases the adult can reach 48 inches in length. Mexican black king snakes are entirely black and they have patterns on their skin. Their eyes are small, dark with round pupils. Mexican black king snakes live in the Sonora and Sinaloa deserts as far north as Arizona. These snakes avoid the sun they hide burrows or under debris, they hunt at night. Mexican black king snakes eat lizards, other snakes, rodents, birds and frogs.
They bite there pray then the king snake wraps around the pray seven times until it goes into cardiac arrest or stops breathing. Mexican black king snakes have a number of predators including hawks, owls, coyotes, foxes and feral cats. Their black skin color helps them camouflage themselves from the predators. If the Mexican black king snake is
cornered it will rattle their tails hiss and bite to act like threats. Mexican black king snake males begin looking for female snakes in spring.
Mating begins over the next 1 or 2 months. King snakes lay a clutch with 24 eggs in it. When they lay the clutch of eggs they leave and don’t come back. When the eggs hatch they look for food as soon as they get out of the egg. Most of the time all of the baby snakes survive.
I chose to write about the Mexican black snake because it one of my favorite animals. I also love the different skin patterns. No other snakes have all black skin. They are not poisonous to humans. I really enjoyed writing and learning about them and I hope you enjoy reading.

Have you ever thought about cuddling or sleeping with a Giant Panda Bear? Did you know that Panda Bears eat leaves, stems, and shoots of various bamboos? Also, did you know some Panda Bears Live in Sichuan. Amazingly Giant Panda Bears only live for 20 to 30 years.
Giant Panda Bears are part of the bear family. They live in dense misty and rainy mountains of southwestern China. It is believe that only about 1,800 panda still live in their natural habitat in China. They are black and white in color. Male giant pandas can grow up to 200 pounds the size of a grizzly bear! Their main predators are human begins. Human kill the panda bears for their fur. Their fur can be worth $60,000 to $100,000.
Female panda bears start having babies after they turn four years of age. They stop having babies by the time they reach 20 years old. They only get pregnant once a year in the spring time. They can have one or two babies at once. Their babies are called cubs. The cubs are born blind, white in color, and tiny only weighing between 90 to 130 grams. If two cubs are born, the mother takes the strongest cub and holds it in her paw for several days. The other weak cub dies soon after birth. Now that is very mean.
